Illicit Merger No. 5

Illicit Mergers refers to both the medium and the concept behind these works. A “pedestrian” medium (white, opaque primer) intrudes onto the “fine art” canvas with a loud, graffiti-like presence. the concept of illicit mergers can refer to when societal issues first appear and seem odd or objectionable until a paradigm shift happens, and what was once objectionable becomes the accepted norm (typically how progress is made).
