This piece has quite a few layers of acrylic underneath layers of oil. It’s a hard one to photograph but there’s a lot of depth and under layers that subtly come through in person. I thinned the oil paints out and ripped into the layers as I finished the final layer, exposing subtle yellows, blues, greens and reds amidst the black that come through in the light. I made this one to be oriented portrait or landscape depending on the space it’s going into.
